Joyelle

Joyelle began songwriting at the tender age of four, and since then her passion for music and words has only grown stronger. At 16 years she bought her first guitar with the proceeds from a second place winning in a local songwriting competition. But it wasn't until she was 18 that she first heard James Taylor, whose musical style was the first that she could relate to her own.

Her music has been compared to a wide range of other artists, including Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLachlan, The Cowboy Junkies and Natalie Merchant. Her combination of soaring melodies and evocative, personal lyrics creates a warm, acoustic experience.

Recently, Joyelle has been performing at many events around Vancouver, including Grrrls With Guitars, Divas @ The Onion, and an appearance on the VTV Breakfast Show. Joyelle is planning to release her debut EP in the winter of 2000.
