The Jeff MacArthur Quartet

The Jeff MacArthur Quartet (JMQ) are a professional Vancouver based jazz quartet. With a selection of material ranging in styles from classical jazz standards to Afro-Cuban/Latin pieces to fusion tunes, as well as a selection of original compositions, the JMQ can adapt to a wide variety of playing situations. Through the exceptional musicianship and compositional skills of its members, the JMQ puts its own unique signature on all of the tunes in its choice repertoire and provides musical entertainment of the highest quality.

Educated in performance and composition at McGill University, Jeff has performed as a leader and sideman in Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, and the Maritimes. Steve has both a bachelor and master's degree in composition and has played in various combos in Canada and the States ranging from piano trios to big bands. A veteran player from England, Dave Davies has toured in jazz and rock combos around the world, including North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Since completing his musical education at the University of British Columbia, Mark has been teaching music at schools throughout Vancouver as well as enjoying playing opportunities for the theatre and stage.

The JMQ has performed in and around Vancouver for over the past year with the various members also pursuing their own solo and other musical projects. Encouraged by great audience response and the pleasure of playing together, the members of the Jeff MacArthur Quartet are investing more time in live recording.
