Dean Way was born in London, England in 1960 and grew up listening to his parent's Beatles records. Moving to Canada in 1968, Dean did not learn to play the drums until his early twenties. He quickly made up for the late start by playing and touring extensively through the 80’s and 90’s in top 40 and original bands.

Joining Mersey Beat in late 1998, Dean brings his years of experience and vocal ability.

Al Sirett, born in 1956, also hails from England. Moving to Canada in ’63, he arrived in Vancouver just in time to see the Beatles perform at Empire stadium in 1964. Inspired to take up the guitar, Al has become an accomplished musician and has been a part of various local bands.

Al, a big fan of the British invasion and a Beatles aficionado, formed Mersey Beat with his long time friend Ted.

Clive Calderbank comes to us from the African country of Zambia. He later moved to England and then on to Canada. In November 1964, Clive as a young boy of eight sat, watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. Impressed with the four lads from Liverpool, he took guitar lessons but later switched to bass at which he excelled.

Clive spent his 20’s in the Kootneys where he met Dean. After a move to Vancouver, a mutual friend introduced Clive and Ted.

Mersey Beat was now complete. The lads provide a non-stop explosion of The Beatles #1 hits from the git go and love to interact with the audience. Mersey Beat reproduces the sound of the Awesome Foursome via their authentic gear and excellent vocals.
